Tillingbourne Junior School

  • Wellbeing

At Tillingbourne Junior School, children’s well-being sits at the heart of everything we do. We know that children learn best when they feel safe, valued and supported.

We actively promote positive mental health and emotional wellbeing through:

    • A carefully planned RSE, PSHE and online safety curriculum that teaches children how to understand emotions, build healthy relationships and stay safe.

    • ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) provision, offering targeted support for children who may need additional help with emotional regulation or confidence.

    • Monthly Well-Being Break Times, providing calm, structured opportunities to connect and recharge.

    • Well-Being Ambassadors and Mental Health Champions, empowering pupils to support one another and promote positive mental health across the school.

    • A dedicated Well-Being Club, soft starts to the day where needed, and support for pupils experiencing Emotionally Based School Non-Attendance (EBSNA).

    • A wide range of clubs, activities and enrichment opportunities that help children build friendships, discover interests and develop a strong sense of belonging.

We work closely with families to ensure that support is timely and appropriate. If you have any concerns about your child’s wellbeing, please speak to your child’s class teacher or contact the school office — we are here to help.
