Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Do not send your child to school if:
- they are showing symptoms:
- a temperature of 37.8 degrees or higher or they feel hot to touch on chest or back.
- a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual).
- a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal.
- someone in your household is showing symptoms.
If your child or a household member has symptoms then:
Arrange a test. Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital.
Get a test on-line at https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/ or Call 119 if you have problems using the internet. If no tests are available online, do not call the helpline to get a test. No extra tests are available through the helpline.
Inform the school of the results. If the test is negative you can end your self-isolation and return to school work etc.
If the test is positive - Inform Track and trace and follow public health advice on when to self-isolate and what to do.
