Our Aims and Vision

At Tillingbourne, our mission is clear:

  • Achieve more than they thought possible

This mission shapes everything we do. We want every child to flourish as an aspirational, resilient, responsible, caring, curious and confident learner who is proud of their achievements and excited for the future.

Our curriculum is carefully designed to meet these aims and bring our mission to life. It is broad, balanced and ambitious for all, ensuring children develop a strong foundation of knowledge and skills while fostering creativity, curiosity and a love of learning. Lessons are well-sequenced, build on prior learning and provide appropriate challenge and support so that every child can thrive.

Alongside the taught curriculum, we offer a rich programme of before- and after-school clubs, visits from external experts, special events, competitions, trips and residential visits. These opportunities enable children to discover new interests, develop talents, build confidence and experience success beyond the classroom — helping them to truly love learning and find their strengths and talents.

Through this approach, we ensure that all children at Tillingbourne are inspired, motivated and empowered to achieve more than they thought possible.

Our Values

Our six values — Aspirational, Resilient, Responsible, Caring, Curious and Confident — underpin our approach to learning and life at school. They guide children not only to succeed academically, but also to grow as respectful, compassionate members of our community.

As a UNICEF Rights Respecting Gold Award school, we actively teach and uphold children’s rights as set out in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. Three core rights underpin all of our work with children:

  • The Right to Be Me

These rights ensure that every child at Tillingbourne feels safe, valued and empowered to succeed.
