Information for parents

At Tillingbourne we use formative assessment to inform our teaching. It allows us to understand what the children already know, what they have remembered and what they need to learn next. Effective formative assessment allows the teacher to teach each individual child what they need to know to make progress. Formative assessment can take many forms in the classroom - marking books, quizzes, Q&A, peer or self-assessment to name a few.

As well as this we use termly summative assessments to track the progress of all pupils though the curriculum. For this we use nationally benchmarked NTS papers.

At the end of KS2 the children will sit the KS2 SATS papers.
